DynOzone Ozone System
EDRO's DynOzone Ozone system saves you money the moment you start using it.
Anything that can be processed in a regular washer-extractor can be washed in the DynOzone system. The system uses UV radiation to create two types of activated oxygen gas. This special gas (Germicidal Ozone and Oxidizing Ozone) is then directly injected into the wash tub.
Germicidal Ozone Action
The Germicidal Effectiveness curve measures the level at which ozone UV action is most effective in destroying microorganisms - such as airborne and surface bacteria, viruses, yeasts and molds. The most effective nanometer level is at 265 nm (see graph below). EDRO's Power Cells generate typically 90% UV radiation at a level of 253.7 nm.
Oxidizing Ozone Action
EDRO Power Cells also generate a second level of ozone. The 185 nm level is an extremely active oxidizer and also destroys microorganisms on contact. The major advantage of this ozone level is that it acts as a deodorizer giving your laundry the "outdoor spring fresh" smell.
With the proper wash programs, DynOzone can save substantial monies on operating efficiencies. Total cycle time, hot water usage, and overall water usage can be greatly reduced while still producing quality results. For instance, DynOzone-equipped washers can eliminate a rinse as well as shorten wash step time all contributing to faster wash cycles and less water consumption. On average, laundries who have installed DynOzone washers and replaced their industry standard wash programs have reported increased productivity from their washroom. This has come in the form of more loads per day due to the faster turns of the machines.
An air stream of charged gas molecules is produced by EDRO's exclusive Power Cell technology. The Power Cell exposes atmospheric air to special crystal lamps emitting both ultraviolet and infrared radiation. As air passes through the Power Cell, a safe, disinfected, and sanitized air stream is created. This is then injected into the wash wheel. Because it cleans the natural way, DynOzone is better for the environment as it requires fewer resources to attain high-quality results. System maintenance is as simple as changing a light bulb.
The gas produced by the Power Cell generators comprises many oxygen species including atomic oxygen and ozone. Although a component is ozone, it is much more than that. The specific wavelengths of light from the UV lamps generate a free oxygen molecule that forms hydroxyl radicals, hydrogen peroxide and other oxidants when added to humid air. These species are more powerful than bleach and heat for germicidal and bacteria-kill strength, and are effective agents for oxidizing, brightening and deodorizing.
